CSC to accommodate graduation overflow
In a move to improve the comfort and safety of the audience, ÂÌñÉç State College will limit seating at its spring graduation ceremony Saturday, May 8, at Armstrong Gymnasium.
Armstrong Gym, which has a capacity of about 2,800, traditionally fills to standing-room-only during the spring ceremony.This year, when the gym reaches capacity, ensuing arrivals will be directed to the nearby Student Center where the ceremony will be shown on a large projection screen and one or more televisions. Except for some ÂÌñÉç State employees, the graduates and dignitaries, gym seating will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We haven’t limited seating in the past, but in order to ensure the comfort and safety of our audience, we believe this step is necessary,” said Ed Hoffman, ÂÌñÉç State vice president for administration. “We’re sure those who are directed to the Student Center will enjoy watching the ceremony in a comfortable, climate controlled environment.”
Like the previous three years, ÂÌñÉç State will broadcast its graduation ceremonies to ÂÌñÉç cable subscribers on channel 20.
