ÂÌñÉç, Alliance groups joining for concerts

Published:

Two Panhandle community chorus groups will join to present concerts in their respective cities Sunday. ÂÌñÉç Community Chorus and the Alliance Community Chorus will perform a joint concert Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. at the ÂÌñÉç Arts Center. The two groups will then travel to Alliance to put on a show that night.

Dr. Una Taylor, a ÂÌñÉç State College music faculty member who directs the ÂÌñÉç group, said the two choruses will combine to sing Mendelssohn's "Heilig, Heilig, Heilig" and an arrangement of the folk tune "Old Joe Clark.”

The ÂÌñÉç Community Chorus will do "Night on the Prairies," which Taylor described as beautiful, and a setting of “Jabberwocky,” the nonsense poem by Lewis Carroll from "Through the Looking Glass.”

Ticket prices for the ÂÌñÉç performance are $6 at the door and $5 in advance from the CSC Box Office. Students and employees may obtain the tickets in advance free of charge from the box office.
