LINCOLN – The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) has named Chauncey Pedersen the 2016 NSCS Counseling Excellence Award recipient. Pedersen, who has been the guidance counselor at the Kimball Junior and Senior High School since 2008, also coaches girls’ basketball. Pedersen worked at Mitchell, Nebraska, as an elementary teacher and coach for football and girls’ basketball before taking the counseling position at Kimball.

CHADRON – The District 12 National FFA Organization Leadership Contest was Nov. 16, at ÂÌñÉç State College. Participants from 16 Nebraska high schools put forth their best efforts in the hopes of qualifying for the 88th Nebraska State FFA competition April 5-7, 2017.

CHADRON – The ÂÌñÉç State Foundation announced Tuesday during a reception at Country Kitchen that volunteers from the campus and community combined to raise $191,879 during the annual fall fund drive. The amount is an increase of more than $10,000 from 2015.
