Trail of Tears exhibit to open in Sandoz Center

Photographs illustrating the infamous “Trail of Tears” from Georgia to Oklahoma in 1838-39 will open Friday, Jan. 28 in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center at ÂÌñÉç State College. The exhibit will remain open to the public through Feb. 25.

Tickets limited for Omaha Symphony concert

Only a limited number of tickets remain for the performance by the Omaha Symphony’s chamber orchestra in Memorial Hall at ÂÌñÉç State College on Thursday, Jan. 27. The concert is a part of ÂÌñÉç State’s Galaxy Series. Conductor Ernest Richardson will give a pre-concert talk beginning at 7 p.m. The concert will open at 7:30.

Finalists for president to visit CSC this week

The three finalists for president of ÂÌñÉç State College will be on campus Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 25 and 26 to meet with various campus groups. The three are Dr. Gregory Aloia, dean of the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University at Boca Raton; Dr. David Svaldi, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Adams State College at Alamosa, Colo.; and Dr. Niel T, Zimmerman, special assistant to the dean of the College of Business and Public Administration at Eastern Washingt

Childhood Conference set for February

ÂÌñÉç State College’s 16th annual Excellence in Early Childhood Conference will be Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 24-26. Dr. Kim Madsen, the conference’s director, said the event will feature a number of sessions to provide information and motivation for those who work with young children. It will also feature presentations from a pair of popular speakers.

Finalists named for ÂÌñÉç State presidency

Three finalists for the presidency at ÂÌñÉç State College have accepted invitations to visit the campus on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 25 and 26, it was announced Monday by Dr. Stan Carpenter, executive director of the Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges.
