Staff Senate

The ÂÌñÉç State College Staff Senate represents Support Staff and Professional Staff and serves as an advisory and review body within the College’s shared governance structure.

The Staff Senate provides a forum for discussing matters related to staff development, students, institutional operations, and the educational and workplace climate. It also gives staff a formal channel for providing advice and recommendations to the College President and the Nebraska State College Board of Trustees.

Through collaboration with the Faculty Senate and other College groups, the Staff Senate advocates for the interests and welfare of staff, addresses shared concerns, and supports the mission of ÂÌñÉç State College and the success of its students.

Membership

All eligible Support Staff and Professional Staff currently employed by ÂÌñÉç State College are automatically members of the Staff Senate constituency. No application or membership fee is required.

Membership includes employees who provide services, administer programs, support institutional operations, or otherwise contribute to the College’s mission. Members of the President’s Cabinet—including, but not limited to, the President, Vice Presidents, and Chief Information Officer—as well as Deans and faculty, are excluded from membership.

Faculty are represented separately through the Faculty Senate, which may appoint one nonvoting representative to attend Staff Senate meetings.
